| Garden House dates back to the
1840s. It is set in a rural conservation area only a short drive
from Durham City or the market town of Bishop Auckland. The house was
converted from servants cottages, previously part of the
neighbouring Windlestone Hall (former estate of Sir Anthony Eden) and
has a magnificent 180 foot long walled garden, in which guests can
stroll and relax in the summerhouse.
We offer our guests a high standard of accommodation, with a choice
of double or twin bedded rooms, complete with en-suite bathroom. An
adjoining private sitting room has views over open countryside where
sheep graze alongside woods inhabited by deer and badgers.
Our location is ideal for visitors to Locomotion, the National
Railway Museum at Shildon, and other heritage sites in the North East. |
